Since its foundation on 1946, the Security Council assumed accountability for the maintenance of international
peace and security when threatened, taking the lead in determining the existence of a threat to the peace or act of
aggression. It calls upon the parties to a dispute in order to settle it by peaceful means and recommends methods of
adjustment or terms of settlement. In some cases, can recourse to imposing sanctions or even authorize the use of force
in order to maintain or restore international peace and security. Being one of the six main organisms that conform the United
Nations, the duty of member parties representatives is called upon to conceive resolutions biased by the general objectives
and ethical lineaments of the Charter in behalf of their states.
